AMA Computer University

The Amable Mendoza Aguiluz Computer University (AMACU) or most commonly known as AMA Computer University is the first ICT institution in Asia. Here in the Philippines, the school is widely-known because of the many branches (200 campuses) established. More than 150, 000 students are enrolled in this institution that’s scattered in various parts of the country. Yearly, AMA gathers hundreds of millions of earnings from the tuition fees paid by its more than a hundred thousand student population.

In terms of the education quality, AMA is considered as one of the IT schools in the Philippines that has low quality rate. Although not all branches of this institution are not acknowledged to be good enough, many people say negative things about AMA in online forums. There had been posts like how dirty things run in the school’s society and how the institution corrupts the minds of the people through their ads. AMA is also known for its international controversy, the ILOVEYOU virus. An IT student created this virus studied from AMA Computer College in Makati. The student, Onel de Guzman, was expelled by the college because of the massive-impact virus that created breach of computer systems world-wide. Well, every school has its bad reputation.

If AMA has its drawbacks, certainly it also has its good sides too. One of the best things that you will like about this IT institution is the low-cost tuition fee it offers. Due to the financial incapability of most Filipinos nowadays, a few percentage of high school students get to continue their studies in college. Good thing there are campuses like AMA that provide good education without requiring the students too pay high tuition fees. There are also ladderized educational programs that students can enroll to. These associate degree courses can lead to various bachelor degree courses should the student decide to push through with his studies. Here are some of the ladderized courses:
