PCs for Public Schools: Leading Education into the IT World

The PCs for Public High Schools Project is a joint government and business sector effort in soliciting donations of brand new and second-hand personal computers (PCs) for distribution to public high schools all over the country.

To facilitate the implementation of the project, President Estrada created a special body called the Task Force on PCs for Public High Schools.

Led by Trade Secretary Manuel A. Roxas II, the Task Force is mandated to establish the mechanisms for soliciting donations and generating funds to sustain the program selecting schools eligible for assistance and distributing the PCs to selected beneficiaries. Donor organizations shall be acknowledged for promotional purposes and may be entitled to tax incentives for donations as provided by Republic Act 8525 or the Adopt a School Act.
